Exploratory Writing W3B

When babies are born, they will immediately be labeled biologically as male and female. Yes, there seem to be many labels that have defined male and female since I was born. For example, blue represents a male baby while pink represents a female baby. But does color have a gender too? I think these specific behavioral habits are prescribed by people repeating a particular behavior over and over again for an extended period. Self-awareness and self-reflexivity are the most important as human beings. Especially in the digital age, people receive a lot of new information from the Internet every day and constantly refresh their perceptions. Post-humans are like a computer, and further information is like a frequently updated system, and only by continually improving ourselves will we not be abandoned by society. Therefore, I strongly agree with the author's statement on page 60 that human beings are constantly rebooting, reborn, and surviving (Russell 2020). From the time we are born, we begin to receive some information from the outside world that is not subjective.

As we grow up, we become self-aware and modify our self-perception and worldview. Every person finds something in themselves that is different from others. In the article, the authors call these grunge points or mistakes or niches Glitch (Russell 2020). These glitches often have a lot of energy. For example, only one percent of a white sheet of paper is soiled with ink, but people tend to notice this tiny dirty area first rather than the remaining clean area. Therefore, it is essential to look at society from the perspective of understanding the power of Glitch. A few decades ago, some questionnaires would often have an item about gender, and the options would only be male and female. People seem to be breaking this binary gender division, and I increasingly see the third and fourth options appear on online questionnaires about gender. It's undeniable that even with all the technology available today, there are still some disadvantaged groups. What matters is how we define ourselves and how we see ourselves. On page 28 of the article, the author says that gender is a playground when people get rid of the gender binary (Russell 2020). I think it may be that more and more people are choosing to communicate digitally. The Internet is a great tool to disguise your true self. For many of the new generation of young children, the Internet is not illusionary and disguised because they live fully in the internet age. Many people choose to use the Internet to escape their true selves, but these disguises and illusions are real for the new generation. This got me thinking about the relationship between mind and body. I think the mind and the body are indispensable to us as human beings. It is impossible to simply define whether the body supports the mind or guides the body. Therefore, I think they are completely equal and fit into dualism. But let's try to break the dualism about gender, so how do I define mind and body? As humans continue to absorb new knowledge and advances in biotechnology, the way the body is defined and read has changed a lot, or people don't care so much about gender because on the Internet, good work will always be appreciated regardless of whether the creator is male or female.
