Glitch

Glitch is the mistake, the few, and the miracle. Glitch is the trait that makes each person unique. Every one of us is a glitch, and the Internet has connected every glitch, just like Tufekci explained that digital way is the most effective way for human to communicate (Tufekci 2014). I think the Internet is like a vast bowl, and glitches (every one of us) are the different dishes, and the Internet makes us connected. The three images I chose are the ocean, the starry sky, and the city I live in (Denver). Land, sea, and air are the three most dominant regions in the world. As humans, we are still dependent on air and water for survival, even though we don't know if we are an alien or invasive species. Therefore, I chose these three images because these are what I need as a human being. The picture of the starry sky represents the unknown. For me, I think the universe is very mysterious, and there is a lot we don't know. There is a lot of glitch in space, and I think astronauts are also a kind of glitch in length. I used text editing in this glitch photo, and I added some keywords like human, post-human, future, technology, glitch, and why human unique, and I added a quote from my question and inner monologue. {The Internet is significant to humanity.

The Internet both hurts us and helps us.

Social media is a glitch.

Glitch helps people get ahead.

Why does glitch hurt?

Why humans need glitches?

Glitch is a minority but also represents each of us.}

These colorful rectangles appeared. I added some more black rectangles with the Affinity photo and made the whole image a little blurrier. The second picture is a picture I took in the mountains near Denver. I chose to use text editing and audio editing to add glitches. in the next part, and I added Mood's lyrics: Why are you always in a mood. I think a unique trait of humans is that we have many unpredictable emotions. These uncontrollable emotions are also a glitch, which may make us lose control but also make us vivid. We are reborn one change at a time. As Russell said, people are constantly reborn and surviving (Russell 2020). Then I added the fade-in and fade-out effects to the audio and copied the middle sound. These operations add a lot of noise and blue lines. I remixed two images and added a planet. My concept is that we are staring at the unknown where we live, but the unknown is also staring at us. The third picture is of a man falling in the deep sea. The feeling of being submerged by the sea makes me feel very small. Russell talks about how people can't wait for the world to accept us. We should change (Russell 2020). All three images make me feel that man is just a small particle in the universe, but we have tremendous power to try to change the world. I used text editing and audio editing to glitch the third image. Added four effects to each of the four different sound clips to make the whole image look unclear and edited text (copied and pasted some text and deleted some text) to make the second person in the footage appear. I made a text glitch version and an audio glitch version and used Affinity Photo to remix the two images.
