Hi Everyone! My name is Susy. I am a senior at University of Denver. I love Internet art, visual art, and interactive design.
When I was in elementary school, I saw my dad researching a computer. My parents were professors at the university, so I could often see them using the Internet. My first memories of the Internet are probably "Baidu" and "Tencent QQ." As I grew up, I got my first cell phone and QQ account when I was in 4th grade. Tencent QQ was the first social media I used, and basically, everyone in my elementary school had a QQ account, and we had a QQ class group. I shared my status and played some QQ games like QQ Farm and QQ Speed. I grabbed all the time I could to use my phone and QQ because my parents would limit the amount of time I could play with my phone and the Internet. Cell phones and QQ were the only internet entertainment I had at the time. I even turned on my computer and phone secretly while my parents were asleep. It was like a black hole with infinite attraction. My friend's post and the little games on it were very attractive and were the first step to get me interested in the Internet.
Weibo, Baidu, and QQ were the ones I used the most in middle school. I use Weibo to follow some social news and entertainment news. I used Baidu to access information. For me at that time, Baidu was like an all-knowing database. High school was when I started using the Internet a lot. I used Tencent Video and iQIYI to watch TV shows. I used WeChat to reach out to family and friends. I used Baidu's Google to look up information and turn in assignments. The Internet provided me with entertainment, life, and learning. I can't live without the Internet. Through the Internet, I have been exposed to many visual artists and artworks. The Internet provides an excellent platform for paintings to be displayed. After coming to DU, I visit Canvas and Pioneerweb every day. Patreon is a website that offers many MAX/MSP patches where I can find many excellent visual artworks. YouTube provides many free videos for my entertainment. Grammarly is also a website I often use because I often use it to check my grammar mistakes. Until today, the Internet has become something that no one can live without. It provides us with convenience and pleasure.
